Youth Group
Who we are...
Our name comes from 2 Corinthians 3:18 which says, “And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.”
The reason we chose this as our scripture is that it’s tied to the main issue we see young people facing, identity. This is the reason our name is ID318.
We desire young people to be transformed “from one degree to another” through the power of God. Our heart is to see young people who passionately follow Christ because they recognize who God created them to be. We believe this happens in the presence of God, through relationships and biblical training.
Meetings
Our meetings range from large group settings that we worship together and hear the Word of God through simple teachings to small groups where our youth assigned a small group leader. Usually most of our gatherings are a mixture of the two, where we meet all together as a large group and then spend the last 30 minutes in our assigned small groups.
Small Groups
We are all about relationships here at ID318. This is the reason we try to have as many relational opportunities as possible. Every month we break into smaller groups and have family gatherings at our youth leaders homes. We play games and fellowship and learn a little bit more about each other.
Activities & Events
We also routinely through the year have several other Youth Activities such as Lock-ins, fun trips, and youth conferences. Our hope is that everything we do points to Christ and encourages growth both spiritually and relationally for our students. We truly desire to see ourselves as the family of God.

Josh Smith
I’m Josh Smith. I have an amazing wife and three kids, and I get to work alongside our middle school youth. I’m into video games, board games, fantastic stories, and delicious food. My favorite thing about working with this age group is challenging them with “why”. Middle School is a time to find out who you are and what you like, and I love seeing young people find their purpose in becoming the church and serving Jesus Christ.
Cathy Smith
Hey there, I’m Cathy. My husband and I have been working with our youth group kids for quite a while now, we choose to do this cause, you know, being a teenager can be really hard, awkward, emotional….. We like to be the voice from the sideline cheering them on, encouraging them, being a friend & most importantly, pointing out them to Jesus.
James Powell
I’m a husband and a dad to three kids. I’ve been involved with our youth group for over 10 years now, because our youth are important. They are our future as a church and I thoroughly enjoy working with high schoolers tackling life’s tough questions as they become adults. My desire is for them to find God and in that journey find themselves. When I’m not teaching youth you can find me with a camera or instrument in my hands. I enjoy making videos, photos, and music.
LOVING ONE ANOTHER DEEPLY, FROM THE HEART
Jesus taught that the highest virtues in terms of God’s Law are relational—to love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength, and to love your neighbor as you love yourself.
